You Can Never Have Enough Bubble Bath Gift Sets

Subscribe To Our Feed Wed 20 Aug 2008

When you think of luxury, things like cars, cologne and chocolate first spring to mind.  However, an extremely luxurious experience is taking a bubble bath.  You smell it, feel it, delight in the sounds of the bubbles bubbling and the foamy look of them.  A real bubble bath is not from a box.  Also, just pouring liquid bath gel does not count.  They give a poor imitation of a genuine bubble bath.  Treat yourself or your loved one to a bubble bath gift set.

For Pagan Purposes

For those in one of the Pagan religions, taking a purification bath is a required ritual before doing any spells.  Not only does it set the mood for the magic to come, but it also shows respect for any spirits you may be petitioning.  Pagan theory suggests that spirits feed on scent as we feed on food.  A bubble bath gift set would delight a Pagan, as they could use the different colors and scents for whatever spells they want to create.

Match With Tea

One of the things this writer used to do back in the days when she had money was to have a bubble bath and a cup of tea.  I would match the scent of the tea with the scent of the bubble bath.  I found a vanilla scented bubble bath matched well with a cup of regular black tea.  Fruity smells went well with green tea.  It was just a fun thing to do.  But it required getting bubble bath gift sets in order to do the mixing and matching.

Bigger Is Not Always Better

The big advantage of most bubble bath big sets is that you can try several scents and moisture levels of a line of bubble baths without having to make a major financial commitment.  It’s always a drag to buy a regular-sized bottle of any bathing product and discover it doesn’t agree with your nose or your skin.

You can also get tired of the same scent or type of bubble bath all of the time.  Bubble bath gift sets turns any bathtub into a fun and relaxing personal spa.  Taking a bath can be a very sensual and refreshing experience, but it can be greatly enhanced with bubble bath gift sets.  You can never have too many, because there’s always new scent combinations you can explore.  You can also mix two scents from the same bubble bath gift set to make a whole new smell.

Advantages of Epsom Natural Bath Salts

Subscribe To Our Feed Sat 16 Aug 2008

Natural bath salts have long been used during baths for medicinal or beautifying properties. There are many different kinds of natural bath salts but the most common are Epsom salts. There are many reasons why people used these kinds of salts.

The use of these goes back several decades and all over the world as well. Epsom salts tends to absorb water even from the air which makes it a bit difficult to weight accurately. These natural bath salts are quite useful both in medicine and cosmetic products and uses.

Uses of Epsom Natural Bath Salts

Epsom salts is the most used and studied form of bath salts available. It is a chemical compound that contains magnesium and sulfate. It is not actually used in its pure from in bath salts but also mixed with other substances. It is commonly used in flotation therapy as well where the salt content of the water is more dense due to the presence of salt, thus encouraging floating. These natural bath salts are also used to soothe tired feet. The salts reduce water absorption of the skin thus reducing the prune effect at the ends of the fingers and toes. Magnesium sulfate that is absorbed through the skin can also help reduce inflammation.

Another use for Epsom natural bath salts can be to treat the water for the health of fish. Some fish can contract what is called dropsy by people who raise and sell fish. It is an appearance of the fish’s scales sticking out of its body due to a heavily swollen abdomen. Many describe it as a pine cone like appearance of the scales, especially around the abdomen. In actuality, it is the fish’s internal organs that are affected by this condition. Epsom natural bath salts can help encourage the fish’s body to expel the unnecessary fluids which deposit in the abdomen.

Using Epsom salts and other natural bath salts during bathing can help rub excess or dead skin from the body as well as give mild exfoliation to our skin. Some other natural bath salts encourage healing of damaged skin but they should not be applied directly into the skin but dissolved in water. Applying directly to broken skin can cause serious pain and stinging.

Natural bath salts are actually also used for the convenience of not looking ‘pruny’ while bathing. This is due to the fact that natural bath salts reduce the absorption of water through the skin or osmosis.

Choosing amongst the Many Luxury Bath Towels

Subscribe To Our Feed Thu 14 Aug 2008

Towels are used for the express purpose of drying people who have just taken a bath or who got wet. Towels come in all forms and sizes. Luxury bath towels are decidedly fluffier, more absorbent and softer than ordinary towels. Bath towels are commonly used after bathing and are about average size compared to beach towels that are larger and more colorful. The term luxury bath towels imply that the towels are more than ordinary; therefore they are also more expensive than the ordinary ones.

What to Look For In Luxury Bath Towels

Although many towels look alike, once you touch them, you can feel the difference. Luxury bath towels are usually the ones which are fluffier and softer than the others. The main reason why luxury bath towels are this way is because of the loops that make up the fibers in the towels. The quality of the materials used, the length of the loops and the density of the material per square inch can help you decided which luxury bath towels are better.

Most towels are made with cotton. One hundred percent cotton makes a better towel than any other natural material. The indication of the level of the luxury bath towels may be seen in the tags or the packaging. It would follow that weight is a factor in making better luxury bath towels so the indication in a better towel should be more than 600 grams per square meter. The higher the number the softer and heavier the towel would be.

Velour towels look soft and absorbent but they do not do a good job of wiping up or absorbing the moisture. In fact, these can be slippery and may also leave flint on the person. Cotton does the best job of absorbing water therefore; look for towels that declare 100 % cotton. Luxury bath towels made of 100 % cotton also last longer than other towels made with different materials.

Higher than ordinary cotton is what is called premium cotton. This means that the cotton used for the luxury bath towels may be Egyptian cotton or Pima cotton. These kinds of cotton are among the softest and most expensive. Expect these towels to be more expensive than your average luxury bath towels. In choosing towels, it is best to really feel the towel to be assured that the feel is what you are looking for. Towels must be washed before using because some manufacturers apply a coating on the towels to make them feel soft.

How to Make Lavender Bath Salts

Subscribe To Our Feed Tue 12 Aug 2008

Bath salts are said to have healing properties as well as other properties that benefit people in a variety of ways. Lavender bath salts are great for relaxing and de-stressing after a long day at work. In spite of being great for your body, using lavender bath salts may not be as great for your pocket. Most bath salts are expensive which is why many people opt to make their own.

Ingredients for Lavender Bath Salts

To make your lavender bath salts, you will need two cups of Epsom salts (you can also substitute this with Dead Sea Salt), lavender essential oil and some coloring (optional). Before anything else, you will need to make sure that your mixing bowl is thoroughly air dried. Any moisture can melt the salt and sabotage your lavender bath salts. It is preferable to use a glass bowl, large enough to hold the two cups of Epsom salts with enough space to mix.

In the dry mixing bowl, sift through the two cups of Epsom salts (or whatever kind of recommended bath salts you are using) for any debris which may damaged your skin. Some salts have small stones or pieces of coral and rock which may have escaped the processing. You can then add the drops of essence of lavender into the Epsom salts while mixing thoroughly after every few drops. The intensity of your lavender bath salts will depend on how you like it.

After mixing the salts well, make sure you have no clumped pieces or wet spots due to excessive moisture or fluid. Take these out if there are some. Spoon the lavender bath salts into a clean, dry jar with a lid that seals well. Store this in a cool dry place if you are not going to use this immediately.

You have the option of putting coloring in your lavender bath salts to make them more attractive. The preferred kind of coloring is food coloring. The technique to adding food coloring to your lavender bath salts is to mix directly after a drop. This is to avoid the salts from melting due to the liquid food coloring. You can dilute the food coloring to attain your desired color but be careful in mixing the diluted color with the salts.

Your lavender bath salts are ready to use after some days. It needs to stand for some days especially after you add the coloring. It is necessary to note that not all kinds of essential oils are feasible for bath salts. Lavender bath salts are among the more popular.

How to Make Your Kids Bath Fun

Subscribe To Our Feed Sun 10 Aug 2008

We all love our kids and want them to be happy, but there is nothing that some of them hate more than the bath. Some kids just can’t stand to get in the tub at night but there are things that we as parents can do in order to make our kids bath more fun.

Get Involved

One of the most important things of course when you are giving a child a bath is make sure that you are always right there in the room with them. This is for the sake of safety more than anything, as a child is able to drown in less than an inch of water and in only minutes.

Decorate, Kids Style

To make your kids bath more fun you may want to consider redecorating the bathroom a bit, making it kid friendly. If the child has their own bedroom then this will be a lot more fun because you can really go all out, but even if you just have the single bathroom you can still make it happen.

Buying a cartoon shower curtain or getting them their own squeeze bottle for the shampoo, simple things like this will make them happy and make the bath more fun for them.

Bring Toys

If you want to make your kids bath more fun and enjoyable for the both of you, one of the best things you can do is get some bath toys. A kids bath is really not a bath without toys, and this gives them something to do while they are in there, something to keep them occupied. There are some terrific bath toys available these days, everything from basketball nets that can be mounted to the wall of the tub to learning games that can be put under the water.

Have a Routine

Kids never like to have things sprung on them, so the best way to make your kids bath more fun and less of a chore is to make a routine out of it. If you prefer to give them a bath at night before they go to bed, then you need to make sure you always have a set time to do it rather than just doing it whenever you feel like it.

This will make the child prepared for the bath each night and create less hassle each night when bath time rolls around. You may also want to reward them each night after their bath, maybe by putting on a movie or giving them a treat. This will teach them that if they are cooperative and have their bath they will get a treat before they go to bed each night.

By taking these helpful hints into consideration you will surely find that your child stops fearing the bath and instead begins to enjoy and look forward to it.
